ERA Chairman (23 Sep 2021)
Many of you reading this will have already heard the very sad news that our Chairman, Paul Gallagher, passed away a few weeks ago following an accident. Our thoughts and support remain with Paul’s family and friends at this difficult time.
The loss of Paul has naturally left a huge hole in our Association. Paul was such a charismatic character, who led the ERA with passion and an enduring commitment to making a difference for all the residents of Emmbrook. Paul was tenacious in all that he did for the ERA, being instrumental in influencing the direction of many developments affecting us all, and aside from all that he was the primary work-horse for everything the ERA did. For all this Emmbrook residents can be eternally grateful.
Since Paul’s passing the rest of our committee have been considering carefully how the ERA proceeds from here. We do not unfortunately have someone ready to step into the role of Chairman; huge shoes to fill. We have therefore decided to proceed as a collective without a Chairman in the interim, unless and until someone else is minded to take on that challenge.
The family have confirmed that Paul’s funeral will take place on Monday 27 September (details are available upon request). The family have also confirmed they wish to reflect Paul’s memory through contributions to British Heart Foundation or Wales Air Ambulance. Donations can be made by visiting www.memorygiving.com/paulgallagher . The ERA has made a collective contribution on behalf of all members.
Going forward we will be considering, in consultation with Paul’s family, how best to further remember Paul in our community and will be in touch with details when we have them.
ERA Chairman (23 Jul 2021)
It is with considerable concern that our Chairman, Paul Gallagher, has been injured in an accident, and has been in intensive care for over a month. Any contact with the ERA via the Chairman’s earlier email address on the ERA web site may not have received attention. Please use the Chairman’s new email address ([email protected]) instead which is being monitored by the Secretary, Pierre Featherbe who is dealing with matters arising. The association is continuing to represent Emmbrook residents in its dealing with relevant authorities (WBC, WTC, developers, etc) and most recently having submitted a response to the planning application for the Council owned land between the Toutley Depot and the Twyford Road.
