Emmbrook is fortunate in having three schools within its boundaries. Together, these three schools can offer excellent education facilities for children from Early Years Foundation Stage to the completion of their sixth form studies. Links to each of the school websites appear below.
A new primary school was built on Queens Road, as part of the Emmbrook Place development, and is run by the Keys Academy Trust. This new school, St Cecilia’s CoE Primary School, will offer up to 210 places. The school is now fully open across all years, including nursery and reception year provision.

The Wokingham Music Club, which hosts live music events, operates from several premises, including: The Witty Theatre, Luckley Road; Royal British Legion, Winnersh and Emmbrook Sports and Social Club, Lowther Road. Please refer to the club website for details of forthcoming gigs.
Joel Park Residents Association
Joel Park is the area of Wokingham that is our neighbour on our eastern border, the two districts being separated by the Emm Brook river itself. The Emmbrook Residents Association and the Joel Park Residents Association have previously worked closely together on matters of common interest, especially in relation to planning matters. However, Joel Park Residents Association disbanded in Jun 2024.
Emmbrook Place relates to the new housing development between Matthewsgreen Road, Twyford Road and Toutley Depot; including Queens Road and the reconfigured Toutley Road (part of the North Wokingham Distributor Road). Whilst Emmbrook Place does not yet have a formalised Residents Association they do operate a community network coordinated by a resident Joanne Parker.
The local authority that is responsible for the Emmbrook area is Wokingham Borough Council.
There is also a Wokingham Town Council, which has responsibilities relating to the central part of the town, and effectively serves as a Parish Council for Emmbrook.
The local member of parliament is John Redwood, who represents the whole of Wokingham. The councillors representing Emmbrook Ward on Wokingham Borough Council are Imogen Shepherd-DuBey, Morag Malvern and Rachel Bishop-Firth. Their contact details are listed below.

The Emmbrook Sports and Social Club, which is located on the corner of Lowther Road and Emmbrook Road, hosts the Wokingham & Emmbrook football club. The Men’s 1st Team play in Combined Counties Premier North League and the Women’s 1st Team play in the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League. The football club also has boys and girls youth sections.
The ESSC is also the home of the Emmbrook & Bearwood cricket club.
The Emmbrook Village Hall, at the junction of Emmbrook Road and Commons Road, is a valuable local amenity that is used for all kinds of activities. An additional community centre has been built alongside the new primary school on Queens Road. We are currently waiting to hear from WBC who will be operating this facility and when it will open.
