Alfred Grover – WWII Commemoration

The Emmbrook history book entitled “So Much More Unfinished History” covers the story of Alfred Grover, who was born in Toutley Hall Bungalow in 1923 and enlisted in the British Army in Aug 1942. He was subsequently killed fighting in Sep 1944, in Santes, France.

Dominic Facon, who is responsible for the local history association Amis du Patrimoine Santois, has provided much of the detail about how and where Alfred Grover was killed.

In Sep 2024 Dominic Facon provided details of a ceremony in Santes to commemorate the fallen in both World Wars, which included details for Alfred Grover.
