NWDR works – Old Forest & Toutley Road closures

Many will have noticed the signs advising of imminent road closures. ERA has been pushing Balfour Beatty and WBC about when they will be issuing detailed communications to local residents, but unfortunately that has not yet been forthcoming for all aspects. In the meantime we are able to share with residents some details of the closures and relevant diversion routes provided by Balfour Beatty.

Toutley Road closure – 16 to 18 July 2020 (09:30 to 15:30)
A full carriageway road closure is planned to be in operation along a section of Toutley Road daily between 16th July and 18th July, during off-peak hours (9.30am – 3.30pm). During this period, traffic signals will be in place between the section shown as a red line on the location plan below. This is to allow us to remove the large oak tree.

Daily public safety will remain a priority, as will the access to the Emergency Services. Additionally, access for local residents will remain open at all times and our trained marshalls shall provide assistance, if needed. Due to the nature of the works, noise levels may be higher than normal which we appreciate may be an inconvenience. We will obviously be doing everything practical to keep any intrusion to a minimum and mitigate the impact as far as possible.

Road closure diversion routes
The diversion routes in place for the planned Old Forest Road and Toutley Road closures are as follows:

ERA will provide further details as soon as it is available from Balfour Beatty or WBC.
